3D Simulation Model Project Basin S1 Besana In Brianza–Veduggio–Renate

Idrostudi develops advanced solutions for water distribution systems (WDS) and sewerage networks, applying academic and field-tested knowledge to improve system performance and management, in Italy and worlwide. Through numerical modelling, design and optimisation, the company supports innovative engineering practices that enhance the efficiency, reliability and resilience of water-supply and wastewater infrastructures.

BrianzaAcque srl manages the integrated water service across 55 municipalities in Northern Italy, serving about 879,200 inhabitants through 3,100 km of water networks and 400 abstraction wells.

Growing cities face increasing challenges affecting the provision of basic urban services due to intense urbanisation.

Activities included the aggregation of calibrated hydraulic models at a supra-municipal scale across 12 basins, covering 29 municipalities for about 1,900 km. The aim was to investigate their hydraulic and energy performance of the WDS using specific performance indicators (KPIs) and to identify the necessary upgrading interventions according to a multi-criteria approach. This scope of work included the processing and drafting of technical design layouts with their estimated bills of quantities.
