Detailed Design of Sadmeli Hydro Power Plant (Racha, Georgia)

The Project area is located on Ritseula River, Ambrolauri Municipality, in Racha-Lechkhumi-Lower Svaneti region.
Ambrolauri Municipality is 300 km far from Tbilisi and it represents one of the largest territorial units in the entire Racha region.
The system is located on the junction of the Ritseula River with the Rioni River between the elevations of 580-650 m a.s.l.
The Consultancy requires the Detailed Design of the headwork structure, fish way, sedimentation basin and forebay. The water from intake structure to the powerhouse is brought via a penstock (about 1,200 m long) which will entirely pass along the left bank of the river. The powerhouse is equipped with Francis turbines. The project includes the design of roads improvement, new bridges to cross the river and rockfall stabilizations to allow the local communities to normally exploit their activities.
